Map Your
Street Tree
It’s now easy to access a wealth of information
on each of the 106,000 trees catalogued in our 2002 Washington,
DC street tree inventory. Make your own neighborhood map. Zoom in
to identify individual trees, their species, size and condition,
calculations of the amount and value of air pollutants the tree
removes, and its value to a tree appraiser.
This unique interactive mapping site was created
with the assistance of NYPIRG’s Community Mapping Assistance Project,
CMAP
and includes data collected through August 15, 2002. Pollution values
were calculated using the USDA Forest Service Urban Forest Effects
Model (UFORE).
