Have a tree planted on your property for only $50.00.
Through a special offer from the District Department of the Environment (DDOE), homeowners can request trees to be planted on their property for only $50.00 per tree. This co-pay includes the tree, the planting, mulch and a watering bag. There is no limit to the number of trees we can plant per property other than space. The trees available through the program are medium- and large-sized native shade trees. You can refer to the list below for the full list of qualifying tree.
To sign up and learn more about the RiverSmart Homes program, visit the DDOE website. The program encompasses other improvements in addition to trees, including rain barrels, rain gardens, landscaping with native shrubs and flowers, pervious paving and concrete removal – and provides a $1,200 allowance to go toward these improvements. A representative from the District Department of the Environment will meet with homeowners to discuss these options, followed by a Casey Trees representative to plan where and which types of trees will be planted, as well as arrange the planting.

Homeowners can choose from 14 shade trees specifically chosen for their environmental benefits.
The RiverSmart Homes Tree Selection Guide is designed to help homeowners select the most appropriate shade tree for their yard. The physical, biological and chemical characteristics of each is described in detail. All trees are available, nursery stock permitting.

Payment for each tree must be received prior to any tree planting being scheduled. You may pay the $50.00 per tree co-payment during your home consult or pay securely online.
