Volunteer Appreciation Reception Recap

Where would Casey Trees be without our volunteers? The answer is — not very far. Everything we do depends on volunteer support, and we are so appreciative that so many people — 1,800 alone in 2015 — donate their valuable time and energy to re-tree D.C.

While our favorite thing is working alongside our volunteers, our second favorite is recognizing their efforts and accomplishments. That is why we host an annual thank you reception — Cheers to our Volunteers.

Not only does the thank you reception give staff and volunteers an opportunity to connect with one another in a fun, social way, it is the best way to acknowledge all of the hard work our volunteers do to keep D.C. the “City of Trees”.

And that is what we did at our most recent reception held at Catholic University of America’s Heritage Hall on January 14, along with recognizing a few key individuals for going above and beyond. Honorees included:

Scarlet Oak Award:

The completion of the most events with Casey Trees in 2015
