Summer Crew application window now open

The search for our 2015 High School Summer Crew is officially on!

Our Summer Crew corps, comprised of high school students and recent graduates, are the individuals who make sure that Casey Trees-planted survive D.C.’s hot and often dry summer months by watering, weeding and mulching them.

We think of them as tree heroes!

“Summer Crew is a pinnacle program for our mission,” said Neil Irvin, Urban Forestry Manager. “Our newly planted trees get the resources they need to survive the D.C. heat,  the crew gets job experience and we get the chance to connect D.C.’s youth to the benefits of trees in a tangible way. This program is more than just watering trees.”

Know of a teenager who’d be interested? Have them submit an online application by Saturday, May 16.

Applicants must be over 16 years of age and either enrolled in or just graduating from a high school in the D.C. region. Selected candidates must complete both an interview and field tryout.
