Livable Communities: Tommy Wells to give opening remarks

Just one month away, the Livable Communities through Urban Forestry conference will bring together experts from around the globe to discuss how proper city planning is important for both its environmental impact and for its impact on human health.

And just announced: Tommy Wells will deliver the conference’s opening remarks.

Wells, former D.C. Councilmember and current Director of the District Department of the Environment, will speak to his department’s efforts to achieve the city’s 40 percent canopy goal, including the efforts the city is making to encourage tree planting and protection.
