DDOT-UFA Planting Schedule

While Casey Trees plants a lot of trees (20,566 since 2002), the District Department of Transportation-Urban Forestry Administration (DDOT-UFA) is also a leader in planting trees across D.C.

Below is a map detailing the 6,400 trees that are currently being planted and scheduled to be planted through spring 2016. The map also details the 4,200 trees DDOT-UFA planted between 2014 and 2015 (indicated one the map as orange points). Use the legend to find out more about each tree.

DDOT-UFA is responsible for “street trees”, the trees in between the sidewalk and the street. If you’d like to request a street tree be planted, pruned or inspected, call 311, make a request online or use their smartphone app to do so. Also consider adopting any newly planted tree in front of your home or work and ensure it gets the necessary 25 gallons of water to survive.

If you’d like to add a tree to your private property in the District, check out our School and Community Tree Planting programs and our Tree Rebate and RiverSmart Home Shade Tree options.
