April / May Programming

April is both Earth Month and when we celebrate Arbor Day, so get in the sustainability mindset by registering for a Casey Trees class or activity taking place in the coming weeks.

One special opportunity to consider is our volunteer planting at the Casey Tree Farm in Berryville, VA on Saturday, April 11.  Volunteers will get the chance to get outdoors and plant tree seedlings that will eventually be planted in the District once they reach two-inch caliper size.

And when you are done, treat yourself to an afternoon in the country where things are a little bit more relaxed — possibly do a little sightseeing, antiquing or wine tasting.

Additional classes and events with open spots still available include:

April 4: Cherry Blossom Tree Tour with Washington Walks
Learn about the origins of these trees that have come to define springtime in the District and discover other notable trees around the National Mall. All proceeds benefit Casey Trees.

April 4: Rock Creek Park Military Road Planting
