Things to do on Arbor Day

  • Plant a tree: Stop by any of our lovely local nurseries to pick out the right tree for your space. With our Tree Rebate, it doesn’t even have to break the bank.
  • Commit to caring for a tree: Become a Canopy Keeper by adopting a nearby street tree. Take on the responsibility for watering that tree, and the city will supply you with a 10-gallon watering tub to make the task easier. Trees need 25 gallons of water a week to survive, especially young trees that are still establishing themselves in the soil.
  • Take a tree walk: Download one of our tree walks and admire the District’s trees in their spring glory. Take your camera with you, then send us photos you take of the trees.
  • Support our tree planting efforts: Casey Trees works year-round to restore, enhance and protect the tree canopy for everyone’s enjoyment. There are a number of ways you can support our work, but if you sign up to be a Tree Champion at a $10 per month level this Friday, we’ll send you a charming tote bag that will announce your love of trees to the world.

Join us in celebrating trees today, this Friday, and every day.
