Recap: Casey Trees Hits Capitol Hill with Summer Watering “Blitz”
If you’ve been following our work lately (which we know you all have) we’re sure you saw that Casey Trees recently hit the streets of Capitol Hill for a day-long watering “blitz,” caring for the neighborhood’s recently-planted trees. The initiative – generously funded by the Capitol Hill Community Foundation – was another rousing success with more than 200 trees “touched” throughout the Capitol Hill region. Our hardworking and dedicated High School Summer Crew traveled by truck and by bike (via our Water By-Cycle program), enduring the blistering heat and treacherous D.C. traffic, to ensure that our city’s most vulnerable trees survive the hot summer months.
To check out our Summer Crew in action and the see all the fun from last Thursday, check out our recap of the event on Casey Trees’ Storify page. For those of you who don’t know, Storify is a web service that aggregates and curates a social media story from multiple platforms in one place, allowing organizations like us to tell a story to our followers.
