During the Summer, Every Day Is Bike to Work Day!

That is, at least for some of our crew. Casey Trees is the proud owner of the nation’s first bicycle-powered tree-watering system, our Water By-Cycle.

Throughout the summer, a crew member and members of our High School Summer Crew traverse the city on bikes, with one lead bike hauling a custom-made trailer that carries our gear, safety cones and information on tree care. This two-wheeled approach allows our team to water trees in spots that are otherwise tough to get to — we all know how tough it is to find a parking spot in some neighborhoods.

Look for our team out on the streets starting in June giving D.C.’s trees a much needed drink. They hope to hit thousands of trees all over the city in just a few short months.
