Casey Trees Marks One Year of Fundraising Success

It’s not hard to see that the past several years have been more than a little busy around here at Casey Trees. Since our founding back in 2002, demand for our services has continued to grow exponentially each year, and this year has been no different. Just this past spring, in fact, we worked with nearly 1,300 unique volunteers, advocated for increased tree protections in the District, and to top it off, planted an incredible 816 trees – the most ever – at 27 sites across the District.

And while this growth has done wonders for D.C.’s tree canopy, it also meant that Casey Trees has needed to put in some serious overtime to get the necessary work done. In order to meet the needs of this growing interest in our programs and to continue expanding our menu of offerings, Casey Trees committed itself to actively seeking external funding as a means to further our mission and leverage the impact of our current work.

This time last year, Casey Trees unveiled their new development department, charged with engaging new constituents and welcoming new opportunities for growth with local and national partners. Almost a year later, the department – which is still in its formative years – is happy to report that Casey Trees has seen some incredible progress.

Thanks to the efforts of the development team, Casey Trees has tripled our donations from individuals across the District – a fantastic achievement to say the least! Additionally, with the added staff we’ve been able to forge stronger and more lasting partnerships with organizations and businesses around the city who are looking to make a difference in the tree canopy of our nation’s capital.

The progress to date has been truly inspiring, and we have many of you to thank for it. However, as Casey Trees enters into what is sure to be yet another busy tree planting season this fall (not to mention just finishing our jam-packed summer watering schedule) we’ll be looking to you – our loyal friends and followers – to help us out.

If you haven’t made a donation to Casey Trees before, or want to do so again, you can donate online. Giving is easy and truly makes a difference in your community. As always, our organization and all of our accomplishments are only made possible through the kindness of our loyal supporters, volunteers, and friends like you.

Thanks again!
