Casey Trees Hits Capitol Hill this Week Thanks to Generous Gift from Community Foundation

WHO: Casey Trees and their Water By-Cycle and Summer Crew team members in conjunction with the Capitol Hill Community Foundation.

WHAT: A full day watering and tree care bonanza throughout the Capitol Hill neighborhood. #WaterBlitz!

WHEN: This Thursday, July 19th

WHERE: All over Capitol Hill!

WHY: Let’s face it, summer in D.C. can be…well let’s just say it. Miserable. But as bad as it can be for us, it’s even harder on our city’s trees. The constant heat and dry conditions make it difficult for newly planted trees to survive. But thanks to a generous contribution from our friends at the Capitol Hill Community Foundation, trees throughout this historic neighborhood will receive some much needed care and attention this week as Casey Trees and our Water By-Cycle and Summer Crew team members work to water and care for hundreds of newly planted trees.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP: Join us this Thursday and help water trees in your neighborhood! Continue to care for your trees throughout the summer by following our weekly watering alerts that run from April through September on our website. You can also help out and support our summer watering initiatives by making a donation to Casey Trees today or by purchasing one of our custom-made slow release watering bags online.

To keep up with all the action this Thursday – and to stay up to date on all Casey Trees news – follow us on Twitter and Facebook! Make sure to use the hashtag #WaterBlitz.

  1. [...] Casey Trees "Campaign" to give relief to our Capitol Hill trees. And of course you’re not relieved of doing your parts for our wonderful gardens, front, back, and the increasingly desperate tree on the sidewalk in front of you.
