Celebrate Arbor Day and Earth Week with Casey Trees

Happy Earth Week! Especially in these uncertain times it’s important for us to appreciate the consistent and positive presences in our lives. The planet we all call home is the source of the food, water and clean air we need to survive. Home to the trees that even now are hard at work cleaning the air and fighting climate change. Yet we still need to play our part to protect the earth so that it will be able to remain a livable place long into the future. Here are some ways to help out and get involved this Earth Week – with Earth Day Wednesday and our beloved Arbor Day on Friday there is so much to celebrate!

To celebrate 50 years of this day honoring our planet we’re taking $50 off our tree adoptions this week (or 50 percent depending on how you want to look at it). These symbolic adoptions of a young tree in D.C. support all our planting, care and education efforts throughout the District. With your adoption you’ll receive a commemorative certificate emailed to you or the person you’re honoring with the adoption. On this special day for our planet, honor the important people in your life and give back to the place we all live.

Since we can’t all celebrate like normal this year by planting trees or partying at the Canopy Awards, we wanted to give you a way to spread the Arbor Week cheer. How about sending out a custom Arbor Week greeting?! Pick from a variety of fun, tree-related greeting templates, add a custom message and tell us who to send it to! We hope they help you share your love for trees with those you can’t be with right now.

We’re not hosting our signature Arbor Day event the Canopy Awards, so this year we’re going to trade our dancing shoes for sneakers this year and #Run4MotherEarth with our great partners at Little Sesame. Buy a rad t-shirt designed by local District artist Rose Jaffe. All proceeds go directly towards tree planting in D.C.
